The National Council for Occupational Safety and Health was established in accordance with Council of Ministers Decision No. 379 and dated 7/7/1443 AH. As one of the outputs of the National Strategic Programme for Occupational Safety and Health, launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development as part of the initiatives of the National Transformation Programme (one of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programmes). The Council seeks to achieve integration with the relevant authorities at the national level to adopt global best practices in the field of occupational safety and health, in line with the needs and requirements of the Saudi labour market, enhance its attractiveness to individuals and the growth of productivity of enterprises, and ensure the protection, safety and health of workers
To become an international mentor and reference in building, developing and implementing occupational safety and health systems
Provide a comprehensive system to raise the institutions' compliance with occupational safety and health standards through the Council in conformity with all relevant government agencies and in consultation with employees, employers or their representatives
